Portland Opera Guild recommends the recitals of the Portland Opera Studio Artists

Lindsay Ohse

POSA Soprano to Offer Recital January 31, 2012
So many of our members leave Guild luncheons expressing superlatives about what they've just heard – the stellar voices of our youngest artists. Then, too, much of the delight of attending the lunches is provided by Portland Opera's Associate Music Director, Rob Ainsley. His interesting and informative commentary on the music and piano accompaniment complete the perfect afternoon entertainment package.
Tuesday January 31, 2012, offers the opportunity to hear our splendid POSA soprano, Lindsay Ohse, and pianist-maestro Ainsley in an evening of intimate songs at the Portland Art Museum's Whitsell Auditorium, beginning at 7 p.m.
Besides singing smaller roles at the Keller and taking the leading ones in the single Newmark opera, Galileo Galilei this season, each POSA singer gives a recital of operatic arias and art songs each year.
These provide the singular occasion for showcasing the talent and depth of the young artists. Those of us who attend the recitals regularly will tell any who haven't that you MUST get to the museum for Lindsay Ohse's recital debut! The first half of Ms. Ohse's program will feature the music of Mozart, including all three movements of his sublime motet, Exultate jubilate. After an intermission, Lindsay will sing songs by Poulenc and Rachmaninoff. The program will last for about 90 minutes.
A voluntary contribution of $10, which goes to the POSA program, is requested, and please call the museum (503.226.2811) to let them know you're attending.
