Portland Opera Guild Receives Top Honor

On the eve of Portland Opera Guild’s 50th Anniversary, President Lee Anne Carter accepted from Bill Early, Vice President of Portland Opera’s Board of Directors, and General Director Christopher Mattaliano the 2010 Aubrey N. Morgan award for its vision and service to Portland Opera and to the art form in our region.

“It is because of the vision and work of their founding members that Portland Opera is here today,” said Early. “They equal the visionary efforts of Aubrey N. Morgan, a man whose leadership, enthusiasm, devotion and support for Portland Opera were also so instrumental in our first two decades.”

“Since 1985, we have honored his memory with our Aubrey Morgan Award. The Award is Portland Opera’s highest honor for exceptional friends whose generosity and leadership exemplify our mission of sharing the beauty and breadth of opera with our community and region.”
